John Harold Sides was born April 22, 1904, in Roslyn, Washington. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1925, and advanced to the rank of admiral in 1960. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, to Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy of Brookline, Massachusetts.
